The UFC have announced a huge showdown for the number one contender-ship to the light heavyweight title in Stockholm early next year.
Alexander 'The Mauler' Gustafsson will be fighting in-front of a raucous home crowd come January 24 2015 and the man put between him and another title shot, is Anthony 'Rumble' Johnson.
The two fighters are ranked in the top five by the UFC and it's a clash that could easily be a title fight if it had happened just 12 months later.
A long time coming
The fight between Gustafsson and Johnson has been heavily rumoured for a while, ever since Gustafsson was replaced by Cormier in the title fight with Jones, and was only delayed by a domestic violence case against Johnson.
Now that he's been acquitted, he's set to be given the next step on the path to his career's rejuvenation. For Gustafsson, it's another hurdle in his pursuit of a rematch with Jones, but it's one that regardless he would've been expected to overcome if he was champion.

While his would-be opponent has bounced around from being Johnson, to former champ, Rashad Evans and back to Johnson, his resolve has remained, and fighting in front of big Stockholm Arena crowd will surely be worth it.
Another step towards European success
Barring any injuries or further police enquiries the event is set to be a huge success for the UFC in Europe, as they look to expand into stadium atmospheres.
Gustafsson is one of the most established fighters in the light heavyweight division and his fight in the Stockholm Arena is the UFC dipping their toes into the arena market. They've also announced Dan Henderson versus Gegard Mousasi as the co-main event, so it's clear they're going all out.
If Gustafsson triumphs and goes on to win the title, it could further the boom period for the UFC in Europe, especially if Conor McGregor finds success in the featherweight division as well.
