CM Punk may have most recently been making headlines for UFC demonstrations and comic book writing roles, but one WWE legend has today made a bold prediction concerning the now former superstar's chances of a return to the organization.
Speaking to NoDq.com, Rob Van Dam was of the opinion that CM Punk will return to the WWE in the future simply because he has "unfinished business" following a less than harmonious departure this summer.
After months of wrangling, rumor and unrest Punk officially left the WWE in July but has not actually been seen in the ring since January's Royal Rumble. As such he did not have the usual send off usually reserved for the top ranked Superstars of the WWE roster.
And RVD, who himself is no stranger to comebacks, believes CM Punk fans will get another chance to see their hero in the ring.
"I imagine he will come back because there is unfinished business there," he told the wrestling website this week.
Van Dam revealed just how impressed he was with the WWE Universe and their continued response to Punk, in particular discussing the CM Punk that can still be heard regularly at live events.

And the veteran wrestler went on to express his admiration for CM Punk's notorious attitude.
"I've always liked him, he doesn't seem to put up with anything and I like observing that about him.
"He's not putting up with anything...and I respect that about him," continued Van Dam who said he was impressed with Punk's abrasive attitude in and outside the ring, revealing a couple of times CM Punk took exception to flight attendants and security staff while working with the company.
"I'm so laid back and it's probably a good thing but sometimes I think why don't I say something (like Punk does)."
Punk's inability to sit on his hands and accept what WWE had planned for him is ultimately what cost him his role in the company but until Vince McMahon or Punk himself comes out and confirms his retirement there will always be talk of a return.
Some have speculated that WrestleMania would be the perfect time for both parties as it would give CM Punk enough time away to rest and recuperate, while obviously offering a major boost to ratings for the WWE.
What do you think? Does CM Punk have unfinished business, or has he walked away for good?
