Ian Poulter is leading the pack in the Turkish Airlines Open, with Rory McIlroy a step closer to the Race to Dubai title as closest rivals Sergio Garcia, Jamie Donaldson and Marcel Siem made slow starts to the tournament. The trio would need to win in Turkey to have any chance of snatching the Race to Dubai honours from McIlroy.

On the PGA Tour, it’s very tight in the OHL Classic at Mayakoba. Robert Garrigus, Steve Wheatcroft, Hudson Swafford, Tony Finau, and Daniel Berger share the lead, with second place currently tied by 14 players.

Also in Mexico, Christina Kim holds the early lead in the LPGA Tour’s Lorena Ochoa Invitational, one stroke clear of Azahara Munoz.

And finally, John Daly has come up with a no-nonsense response to the USA’s recent Ryder Cup problems. He’s proposed Phil Mickelson or Tiger Woods should take the captaincy, but ruled himself out of the race, despite arguing that his presence would keep the guys ‘loose’ and ‘have a bit of fun’!

That’s everything for today, we’ll be back with all the action and reaction from the world of golf on Monday. In the meantime you can check out our website or find us on facebook, twitter or Instagram. Bye for now
