When CM Punk initially opted against fighting in the WWE in the aftermath of January's Royal Rumble he received almost the full backing of the WWE Universe who focussed their anger on Vince McMahon and the organization's hierarchy for forcing the Chicago native out.
Now though, 11 months on from his last appearance in a WWE ring and having spoken very little in public about the reasons behind his decision to quit the company and it is fair to say a considerable number of WWE fans are growing restless with the former Superstar.
One of CM Punk's closest friends in the business has however moved to back the wrestler this week, urging fans to remain patient in a piece with the Miami Herald.
Colt Cabana, who spent a couple of years in the WWE himself between 2007-2009 and is well respected as an indie wrestler, believes CM Punk's happiness is the most important thing right now.
"When Punk wants to talk, he will talk," the veteran wrestler explained.
"I enjoy seeing him being happy right now. So that's where I'll leave it. I know he is very happy. Things are going well for him. When he wants to talk, I'm sure he will do it."

CM Punk, who has recently revealed he will be contributing to an upcoming Marvel Comic, has distanced himself from much of the WWE community in recent months. But those that have spoken to him since his official departure all suggest that he is far more content.
His WWE exit is largely considered to have been caused by a mixture of fatigue, injury and discontent with the current regime's handling of its roster. So to hear how his life has improved away from the company would seem to put a dampener on any rumors linking Punk with a shock return in the future.
Even if this was the case it would seem fair for fans to expect some sort of explanation from CM Punk for what was an unexpected exit. When that comes is anyone's guess but, considering the wrestler's explosive character, we can expect fireworks when he does decide to reveal all.
