Lukas Podolski has reiterated his unhappiness with the lack of first team opportunities being afforded to him at Arsenal.

Despite the fact that he is playing no more than a cameo role for the Gunners this season, he is still being called up to Germany's national squad and spoke of his situation after the World Cup winners' 4-0 win over Gibraltar on Friday night.

Bemoaning his current role at Arsenal for the second time in a week, Podolski said he is growing tired with Arsene Wenger's reluctance to give him a chance to impress. As a result, he looks even more likely to seal a move away from north London in the January transfer window.

"I want to play football for many years to come so am I meant just to say everything's fine and sit my contract out?"

Frustrated figure

"I've spent the last four months making brief appearances," he told reporters. "I've had to wrap myself up warm in my winter coat with my hat and scarf on to watch the others playing.

"I would rather show Arsenal what I am capable if, but this chance to show what I can do is not being given to me.

Hefty wage bill

Plenty of footballers would not say no to Podolski's situation. He currently earns £100,000-a-week at Arsenal and a frugal Wenger would probably want to get such a hefty wage packet off the books as soon as possible.

The 29-year-old looked set to leave the Emirates in the summer, but an injury to Olivier Giroud seemed to delay the inevitable. Danny Welbeck's arrival put Podolski back down the order and it seems an exit will be best for all parties.

January deal likely

He added: "Anything is possible nowadays. You can't rule anything out."

Inter Milan and Galatasaray are among the clubs believed to be ready to take Podolski off of Arsenal's hands.
