Manchester United winger Ashley Young is on a shortlist of January transfer targets for new Real Sociedad manager David Moyes, who is seriously considering an offer to revive the England international's career in La Liga.
Young looked all set to be a key figure under Red Devils boss Louis van Gaal this term, thanks to a tremendous pre-season which saw the midfielder star in an unfamiliar wing-back role.
Memories of a summer brace against Real Madrid are long gone though, with Moyes planning to use frustrations over form and fitness to launch his first transfer raid on Old Trafford when the window opens in January.
Soldado and Young on Sociedad shopping list
The Sunday People believe that Moyes is targeting a double Premier League raid in a bid to put his own stamp on a struggling Sociedad side, with Tottenham Hotspur striker Roberto Soldado the second name on his preliminary transfer shortlist.
Soldado is similar to Young in that he's a player who warranted a strong reputation before making a big-money move, falling on tough times for recently in a Spurs side falling well short of their true potential.

Young wants fresh challenge
Moyes has been made aware that both Young and Soldado are open to exit offers in January, but given Sociedad's rather modest budget only a loan deal looks even remotely likely in either case.
In Young's case Sociedad would definitely be expected to stump up at least part of the whopping £135,000-a-week pay packet the 29-year-old currently picks up at Old Trafford.
Moyes will ask Sociedad to sanction a move for Young, and has been told that the former Aston Villa winger is willing to take on a fresh challenge in the Basque region.
Soldado was once a genuine star in La Liga
Soldado meanwhile has lost the faith of Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino and if Spurs can find a replacement in January he'll be up for sale, giving Moyes the chance to sign a man with a proven track record of scoring La Liga for a knock-down fee.
Sociedad are still formulating their budget to hand Moyes in the January transfer window, but when that decision is made at boardroom level expect Young and Soldado to be his top targets.
