Anticipation is building as Survivor Series, WWE's latest mammoth pay-per-view event, moves ever closer. But as the WWE Universe prepares to see its biggest superstars take part in what is set to be a huge night for the organization it looks like the event in St. Louis could be the stage for one star to bow out of the WWE for good.
Rumors circulating this week suggest that Diva Championship holder AJ Lee could be set to follow in the footsteps of her husband CM Punk and quit the WWE should things fall a certain way come Sunday night.
Wrestlezone (along with a number of other wrestling websites), citing "a legitimate backstage discussion," are reporting that Lee will leave the WWE should she lose her title match up against Nikki Bella at Survivor Series - a storyline that has been rumored in the run up to the event.
Speculation concerning AJ Lee's future, much like her husband's, has been ongoing for much of 2014. Exit rumors concerning the Diva Superstar have come and gone in the past few months with everything from pregnancy to title defeats touted as reasons for her departure.
This report however seems to carry more weight, the idea that she wishes to spend more time with Punk rather than constantly travelling the country with the WWE cited as a potential motivating factor for Lee.

The loss of one of their top Diva stars would be another blow for the WWE after a year filled with stories of roster unrest and Superstar exits.
The Survivor Series this Sunday may well see the final appearance for AJ Lee but the PPV could also play host to a defining moment in the organization.
Team Cena vs Team Authority heads the bill in St. Louis with the running of the WWE at stake. Should Cena and his collective overcome the likes of Seth Rollins, Kane and Mark Henry then Triple H and co will hand over the control of the WWE in the aftermath.
Whatever happens it will be a huge night for fans, and with the rumoured exit of one of the most prominent Divas in recent years there might be even more to talk about than previously expected come Monday morning.
