49ers Linebacker makes a shocked admission

It just continues to get worse for the San Francisco 49ers who are not having their greatest season this year.

Currently holding a 6-4 record, the Niners have had a season filled with shocking defeats and rumours of unrest between players and coaches.

They appear to be getting it together on the field at least as Sunday's win over the New York Giants has now put them on a two game winning streak, but there is a long way to go.

In the wake of their victory on Sunday, there has now been a shocking admission from their Linebacker Ahmad Brooks.

Brooks left the game against the Giants and didn't actually play in the second half despite confirming after the game that he is healthy.

Aldon Smith made his season debut for the 49ers on Sunday after serving a nine game suspension.

Smith didn't start the game but saw plenty of game time as Brooks playing time was largely shared in order to accommodate the eligibility of Smith.

It has however, now been confirmed that Brooks took himself out of the game in New York and it clearly wasn't for injury reasons.

"Yeah, we're working through something." - Ahmad Brooks after the game on Sunday

Brooks refused to take questions after the game on Sunday and reiterated what his coach Jim Harbaugh claimed that they're working through something.

Dissension amongst the ranks

The 49ers are far from being a team in turmoil but they are certainly a long way from being the team they were last year when they reached the NFC Championship game.

The 16-10 victory over the Giants was the 49ers second straight win after last weeks dramatic overtime win over the New Orleans Saints.

It looks good to be going to three in a row next week as they return home to take on the struggling Washington Redskins.

Despite having a winning record, the 49ers still sit joint second in the NFC West as both they and the Seattle Seahawks boast 6-4 records.

Despite being the two teams who contested last years NFC Championship game they are both being left behind the Arizona Cardinals.

With the Cardinals at 9-1, it looks almost impossible that once again this year, there won't be a representative from the NFC West in this years championship game.
