The Los Angeles Lakers are a franchise in transition right now, keeping their heads down this season in preparation for big moves in the coming summers.
One fan though has this week attempted to give his team a head start for one of the NBA's top talents.
As reported by Darnell Mayberry of The Oklahoman, Russell Westbrook was the focus of one pleading Lakers fan at a recent Oklahoma City Thunder game. Fortunately for OKC fans though Westbrook - who wouldn't become a free agent until 2017 - gave sort thrift to the suggestions he should jump ship to LA, offering a few choice words of his own to the persistent Laker.
Mayberry's tweets recount the tough negotiations that went down...
Props to the Lakers fan for using Westbrook's weakness - his penchant for shooting - as a negotiation tool but it seems like the perennial All-Star isn't so convinced that a Los Angeles move would be best for his future. And he doesn't take kindly to Lakers fans invading his home court either.

Not so ridiculous?
The Lakers are not an attractive proposition right now that is for certain but will a chance to rebuild over the next few years there is no doubt the famous franchise will be in the running for free agencies top stars for several summers to come.
Westbrook himself has ties to the area (he was born in Long Beach, California) and should the Thunder continue to fall short of their title ambitions from now until 2017 the player will likely give serious consideration to a new challenge.
And with Kobe Bryant unlikely to be around in three seasons time the franchise could certainly use another shoot-at-all-costs type of guy to keep those stats up.
Westbrook of course was only able to hear the Lakers fan's appeal because he was sat on the sidelines nursing a hand injury picked up in the early weeks of the season.
His return date is yet to be confirmed but OKC fans will be desperate to get one of their top stars back on the court what with MVP Kevin Durant also out through injury.
As for the Lakers, they and their fans will have to make do with what they have at present as then continue on a troubling path which they hope ultimately ends in the addition of an All-Star with the calibre of Russell Westbrook.
