Marco Reus is quickly becoming the most talked about player of the moment, and according to the Express he could well be on his way to Chelsea sooner rather than later.
Having claimed earlier this week that the Blues were leading the race to sign him, the paper now say boss Jose Mourinho has urged Chelsea officials to being talks ahead of the January window.
Liverpool, Manchester United and Bayern Munich have all been linked with the 25-year-old previously, but it appears as though Chelsea are in the driving seat as things stands, although the player himself has insisted he's happy to stay put.
Reus' current contract expires in 2017 but crucially he has a release clause which allows him to move for just €25 million next season which should spark an almighty battle for his signature. That is why Mourinho is keen to open talks as possible and get the deal wrapped up.
It was previously suggested that Andre Schurrle could be used as part of the deal.
Courtois warns Chelsea not to get complacent
Thibaut Courtois has warned that Chelsea cannot get complacent in the title race. The Blues are four points clear at the top of the table ahead of their weekend clash against West Brom.
They're also a further four points clear of Manchester City, who most observers tipped as Chelsea's biggest title rivals before the start of the season, and have yet to taste defeat in the league. The Blues have been further helped by the failings of Liverpool and Arsenal, while Manchester United remain a shadow of their former selves.
Courtois said it’s far too early to declare the race over, despite Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger previously declaring Chelsea as uncatchable. "We don’t have the title in the bag,’ he claimed. ‘We are working game by game. The Premier League is very difficult.
‘We are trying to win with every game that is possible. But there will be a still a long way to win the title. We are working hard. Hopefully that will be enough.’
Chelsea goalkeeper's fling with team-mate's ex revealed
Courtois has found himself in the headlines for all the wrong reasons - former team-mate Kevin de Bruyne’s ex-girlfriend has revealed details of the affair she had with the Belgian goalkeeper while he was on loan with Atletico Madrid.
Caroline Lijnen met the Chelsea goalkeeper on a trip to Madrid and the pair hit it off - after De Bruyne had an affair with his ex-girlfriend's best friend. "Thibaut gave me in that one night, what I'd sorely missed for three years with Kevin," she said.
"With Thibaut I could have good conversations and he also cooked nicely for me. Such a thing Kevin never did. And then suddenly we clicked."
