Liverpool could make a move for Borussia Dortmund manager Jurgen Klopp as they go in search of replacing Brendan Rodgers at Anfield, according to the Express.
Rodgers has endured a nightmare opening to the season, with the Merseyside outfit sitting in 12th place in the Premier League after 12 fixtures. In fact, after yesterday's 3-1 defeat against strugglers Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park, the Reds have already lost on six occasions in this campaign.
Unsurprisingly, Rodgers, who enjoyed quite the campaign in charge of the Anfield outfit last term, has been the subject of much criticism of late, with it now being suggested that his time at the club is coming to an end.
Klopp, though, is facing a tricky time of his own, with his Dortmund team struggling in the Bundesliga. After a number of successful seasons in charge of the German outfit, Klopp's side are currently sitting in 16th position after securing just three wins from their opening 12 games.
Despite their troubles on the domestic scene, Dortmund have once again excelled in Europe. In fact, the Westfalenstadion outfit have a 100% record in Europe's elite competition as they prepare to take on Liverpool's Premier League rivals on Wednesday evening.
There's no doubt about it, despite his troubles this season, Klopp is recognised as one of the top managers in world football. He's even been linked with Arsene Wenger's job at Arsenal if the Gunners manager heads out of the Emirates.
Liverpool, on the other hand, have failed to produce the goods in the Champions League and are in danger of missing out on a place in the Round of 16. After four games, Rodgers' side have only secured three points, so will be determined to win their last two fixtures in Group B.
Next up for Rodgers and Co. will be a showdown with Ludogorets Razgrad in a game the Merseyside outfit have to pick up all three points in. The Reds boss will certainly be hoping that a win on Wednesday night kick starts his side's season as the pressure continues to mount on him and his players.
