Cristiano Ronaldo is the most prominent and famous footballer in the world at the moment, so the nature football fans means he is going to face a fair bit of abuse from opposition crowds - you would think he can handle it by now.
Real Madrid's superstar goal machine is not exactly the most shy and retiring type, he's one of the biggest peacocks going, so one would expect the kind of chanting that upset him so in the recent pulverisation of Eibar was par for the course.
It may well be and the day of los Merengues' 4-0 thumping, in which he scored a brace, might have just been a bad day for him. Whatever it was, the Daily Mirror ran a report with a video from Spain showing him getting rather annoyed at the cries.
In the report it claims that Eibar fans started peppering him with insults after manager Carlo Ancelotti decided to substitute him shortly after he scored his penalty to make it 4-0. First up was the cry on 'tonto', apparently the Spanish equivalent of 'loser' and not the Lone Ranger's Native American companion, which drew a bout of sarcastic applause.
Things got a little bit more serious after that Cristiano Ronaldo really did not like it. As he sat on the bench next to James Rodriguez the £80million man looked as if he was going to cry when they started with the Spanish equivalent of 'What a son of a bitch, that Portuguese'.
