CM Punk hasn't set foot in a WWE arena since January's Royal Rumble but the Chicago-born Superstar, or at least his name, continues to haunt those in charge of the organization.
Reports today have revealed that the WWE hierarchy were working hard to limit the impact of Punk on one of their key annual events, this past weekend's hugely successful Survivor Series PPV.
With Punk's popularity amongst many WWE fans holding strong despite his long absence it has not been uncommon to hear cries of 'CM PUNK! CM PUNK!' at various live events over the past ten months. But it looks like the WWE were actively stopping fans from doing so at Survivor Series, presumably in a bid to hide the fact that he continues to have an impact on the business.
One fan present at Survivor Series revealed the extent to which the WWE were clamping down on fans showing support for CM Punk.
If she was correct then it truly shows how fearful the WWE are of CM Punk's continued presence on the WWE scene. Ensuring security keep chants off the "camera side" shows they fear any reminders of Punk being aired to the masses.

Not the first time
The WWE have gone to great lengths in recent months to distance themselves from CM Punk and this latest example is further proof the relationship between the wrestler and those in charge remains strained.
The WWE employed similar tactics at a WWE 2K15 event earlier this year, intentionally muting CM Punk chants when they aired the event on the WWE Network.
It is unclear exactly why the WWE feel the need to eradicate CM Punk's name from their business. The likes of Stone Cold Steve Austin, Rob Van Dam and other WWE legends often hear their name chanted at live events without any fuss made, and with Punk showing no signs of seeking a comeback anytime soon he is after all now in their category of 'former stars'.
It is likely the WWE see CM Punk chants as undermining their current roster which makes sense in a way, but fans would be more inclined to stop chanting if the WWE simply came out and explained Punk's exit once and for all.
