Gervinho is used to horribly misjudging situations and completely missing the target on the pitch, now he's managed to do just that while boarding a plane.
The former Arsenal man, who to be fair has found a new lease of life with Roma, represented his country during the international break after which his club employers provided him with a private jet to return him to Italy safely in one piece.
What Roma thought would be a kind gesture, Gervinho seemingly viewed as the perfect opportunity to try his hand at people trafficking, according to Ivorian newspaper IMatin anyway.
The 27-year-old apparently tried to let a new, erm, female companion, on board despite the fact she had no permission to travel to Italy, bribing four officials at the airport to turn the other way while she climbed aboard.
However the problem came when he came to get clearance from the pilot to carry his precious cargo. It seems as though he was a bit of a stickler for, y'know, only letting people one the plane should be on there, and didn't let the striker bring his new friend aboard despite the offer of another bribe.
It doesn't end there either, it's also claimed that the four men Gervinho bribed have also lost their jobs, while the woman was presumably left behind to peruse the duty free offers. Frankly it's a story as bizarre as Gervinho's haircut.
Roma meanwhile weren't exactly flying this evening as they stumbled to a 1-1 draw in the Champions League against CSKA Roma, despite taking the lead in the first half. The result means both teams now have five points, opening the door for Manchester City to sweep up into second in the group if they can grab three points against leaders Bayern Munich.
During the game Gervinho, much like his partner's authorisation to travel, failed to show up.
