Aston Villa striker Darren Bent has joined Championship club Brighton on a one month loan deal.
Bent could make his debut against Fulham on Saturday, the club where he spent last season on loan.
The English striker has made 13 appearances for the national team - the last of those three years ago - but has struggled to break into Paul Lambert’s team this season.
His new manager Sami Hyypia wrote on the club website: “We are delighted to welcome Darren to the club, and I hope he will score plenty of goals for us during his time with us.”
Bent became Villa’s record signing in 2011 and has scored 21 goals in 60 games since his move from Sunderland and Hyypia is excited by his new striker.

“His record speaks for itself," the Seagulls boss added. "He is a top-class striker with a more than 100 Premier League goals with Charlton, Spurs, Sunderland and Aston Villa.
“He also wants to play regular games and that is evident in his willingness to step down from the Premier League to the Championship.”
Brighton have had a disappointing start to the campaign and sit 20th in the Championship, level on points with Rotherham in the relegation zone.
