With the shortlist for the UEFA Team of the Year nominees released, the time has come for fans to begin to eagerly await the final eleven players to be picked.
Before then, it is well worth knowing that only a meagre seven players are from the Premier League and even then, only three of those seven have been in the league for a full season.
Chelsea's Thibaut Courtois and Diego Costa, Alexis Sanchez of Arsenal and Manchester United's Angel Di Maria are summer imports from the league in Spain, although Courtois was on loan from the Blues.
Add that to the 11 other La Liga nominees and you realise that the Spanish League is indeed the premier league in the world. Only Luis Suarez, formerly of Liverpool, has been snubbed. Even he now turns out for Barcelona! Where is the EPL going?
