With Ray Rice having won reinstatement into the NFL this week is free to sign with any franchise that wishes to acquire his services.
Many may have predicted it tough for the now 27-year-old former Baltimore Ravens running back to find a new team in light of his highly publicized assault of his wife and the subsequent media scrutiny.
ESPN's Adam Schefter has however revealed that no less than four NFL teams have "looked into" bringing in Rice before the 2014 season is out.
Schefter has named both the New Orleans Saints and Indianapolis Colts as having mulled over the potential signing in recent days - citing a source who has, so far, refused to name the two other franchises.
"At least four teams have looked into signing recently-reinstated RB Ray Rice, including Indianapolis and New Orleans, though the Colts are not expected to pursue him, per multiple league sources," the NFL insider wrote on his official Facebook page.

Saints on the radar
While reports seem to have ruled out the Colts from going any further with their enquiries, Schefter proclaimed the New Orleans Saints may be willing to forgo public opinion, and pressure from NFL commissioner Roger Goodell, and make a move for Rice.
"Multiple NFL executives have said the profile of a team willing to sign Rice would be one that is a contender, with a strong-minded head coach, with injuries in its backfield, " he explained.
"The Saints - fighting for first place in the NFC South, with multiple banged-up running backs, in a city that would not be overly concerned what NFL commissioner Roger Goodell thinks - would qualify."
Regardless of Ray Rice's off the field issues the veteran RB was hardly in the form of his life last season in the NFL, rushing for just 660 yards.
As such any move for the player would certainly be a gamble but with teams looking for that extra edge as the regular-season run in continues it looks like there are several teams willing to put their neck on the line in search of a win. Giving Rice a reprieve in the process.
