Ciro Immobile only left Serie A back in the summer after winning the Golden Boot at Torino, but has struggled to make an impact in Jurgen Klopp’s Borussia Dortmund side.

The 24-year-old has scored just six times in all competitions, and has failed to fill the void left by the departure of Polish forward Robert Lewandowski to Pep Guardiola’s Bayern Munich.

He could be tempted by a return, though the club may opt to keep him in case one of Marco Reus or Matts Hummels depart. The Bundesliga has yet to see him truly hit top gear, and Milan should make a move in the New Year if they receive any indication that he would be keen on a move to the San Siro.
