Bayern Munich goalkeeper Manuel Neuer was at his showboating best during Saturday's 1-0 victory over Hertha Berlin, lighting up a relatively tame Bundesliga encounter with three separate pieces of brilliant individual skill - including what can only be described as a sensational Superman impression midway through the first half.
The Germany international has developed a reputation as a modern day 'sweeper keeper' - equally comfortable with the ball at his feet as he is shot stopping with his hands - and can be regularly seen venturing out of his penalty box to get involved with action further up the pitch.
Neuer has proven on many occasions already this season that his technical abilities are right up their with some of his fellow outfield professionals, which is probably why his forays upfield have become increasingly customary with each passing week.
The 28-year-old's crowd-pleasing exploits at the Olympiastadion over the weekend were celebrated once again by the Bundesliga's official YouTube channel, and provided further reason for the World Cup winner to be named winner of the FIFA Ballon d'Or award.
Neuer was today [Monday] confirmed on a three-man shortlist for the 2014 trophy alongside Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, and has done his chances of claiming the prestigious individual accolade no harm with another mesmerising display.
