WWE: Vince McMahon wants CM Punk to return

Published 199 Comments

Vince McMahon has finally responded to the accusations placed on him and the WWE by former superstar CM Punk last week.

CM Punk left the WWE back in January the day after Royal Rumble but he didn't reveal his reasons for leaving until last week, when he appeared on Colt Cabana's The Art of Wrestling Podcast.

In the interview, Punk spoke out about what he feels was mistreatment by WWE towards him and he also criticized Vince McMahon for firing him on his wedding day and for making promises that he never kept.

On Monday night, Vince McMahon responded in kind with an apology for firing Punk on his wedding day. McMahon was speaking on the Steve Austin Show and he spoke at length about how some of Punk's comments are "his version" of events and nothing more.

But during what was quite an explosive and interesting interview, Vince McMahon made an extremely surprising and equally exciting statement about Punk.

Surprising comments

Talking of the future and Punk's chances of returning to WWE, McMahon explained, "I hope one day we'll be able to get back together again," McMahon told Steve Austin.

These comments are quite surprising because the possibility of CM Punk returning to WWE looked pretty slim after last week's barrage of insults that he threw at McMahon and WWE.

Punk said quite a lot of revealing and hurtful things about wrestlers he's worked with and McMahon bore the brunt of plenty of criticism too. But as they always say in WWE, 'never say never' and despite Punk claiming he won't return maybe there is still a chance.

So what do you think WWE fans? Will CM Punk ever return to WWE? Leave your thoughts in the comment box below.
