Marcos Rojo scored Manchester United's winning goal against Stoke City last night, according to his girlfriend Eugenia Lusardo.
Lusardo took to Instagram after the Red Devils' 2-1 victory on home soil to prove that the Argentine centre-half flicked on a cross from Juan Mata.
The goal, which was struck on the hour mark, was initially handed to Spaniard Juan Mata, but caused some controversy as Rojo appears to be in an offside position.
And now, with the player's girlfriend insisting that the Argentine got a touch on the ball, fans of Stoke City will be far from pleased. Lusardo Instagram post certainly appears to show that Rojo did get a touch, bit it remains to be seen as to whether he will be handed the first goal or whether Mata has bagged himself another at the Theatre of Dreams.
There's no doubt about it, though, Manchester United fans will just be relieved that their side secured all three points in last night's showdown. In fact, Louis van Gaal's side won their fourth consecutive Premier League match as they cemented their place in the top four of England's elite division.
United didn't have it all their own way, however, despite taking the lead mid-way through the first half after Belgian international Marouane Fellaini headed home an Ashley Young cross.
Mark Hughes' side hit back late on in the first half as Steven N'Zonzi fired home from outside the box. Mata (or Rojo) ultimately proved the match winner, but United faced a nervy final few minutes as Stoke came close to equalising on a number of occasions.
Van Gaal's side will now be gearing themselves up for a crunch clash with third placed Southampton at the St Mary's next Monday night as the United boss hopes a number of his players return from injury.
With the likes of Daley Blind, Angel di Maria, Luke Shaw, Wayne Rooney and Rafael da Silva all on the sidelines, United's Dutch coach will be hoping that the injury problems calm down over the coming weeks.
