The goals have been picked out by a jury of three people after a thorough review of the football year.
For December 3rd we have decided to take a look at Xherdan Shaqiri's strike against Honduras at the World Cup.
It is not often you witness a shot that can match Shaqiri's when it comes to power. It is even less often you see a player doing it without even being turned towards goal.
The way he puts his weight behind the ball in the same motion in which he shoots is sensational, and very difficult. This is athleticism at it's finest.
Despite Honduras being a lesser opponent in theory, this goal came early in a World Cup match.
It had great significance for Switzerland's advancement in the tournament, since a draw or a loss most likely would have resulted in elimination on goal difference. Shaqiri certainly turned up when his country needed him to, and in an astonishing way, too.
