Last week CM Punk took aim at several people during his two-hour interview with Colt Cobana.
The likes of Vince McMahon, Triple H and the WWE medical staff were the main targets but fellow wrestler Chris Jericho was also perceived to have come under fire from Punk toward the end of the explosive interview. Indeed Punk seemed to accuse Y2J of having an agenda when reaching out to him in the aftermath of his WWE exit.
His side of the story
Clearly unhappy with the accusations levelled at him, Jericho has now taken to his own podcast to defend himself and his actions in the wake of CM Punk's January departure.
Jericho attempted to clear the air by refuting suggestions that he had contacted CM Punk in the hope of being able to get some inside dirt on the wrestler and his side of the story.
Instead he claims he texted Punk on several occasions simply to discuss everyday things such as comic books, music and TV shows and insisted he never once asked CM Punk to appear on his podcast in the months following his exit.

"When he left I sent him a few of texts here and there, 'hey man I'm watching The Clash right now' or 'Have you seen Walking Dead this week?'" explained Jericho.
"I never once A) asked him about the WWE or asked him why he left, and I also never once asked him to do my podcast. So there's no real way I could have an agenda when I never asked him to do the show."
He also took offense at the suggestion he would have used quotes garnered from Punk to boost his own podcast, and refuted the idea he would read out private texts from the wrestler in public.
Chris Jericho then made a point of explaining the close friendship between himself and CM Punk - revealing a time he asked Punk to come pick him up from jail several years ago.
Whether Punk was truly directing his "agenda" anger at Chris Jericho is up for debate but it certainly looks like Jericho is keen to explain himself.
With CM Punk set to reunite with Colt Cobana this Thursday for another sit down interview it will be interesting to see if the wrestler addresses the claims once again.
