Manchester United can still win the title this season - according to former assistant manager Rene Meulensteen.
The Red Devils are eight points behind leaders Chelsea but have played a game more - however Mulensteen says there’s still a chance they can get near the top after their fourth straight win last night.
Louis van Gaal's team wrapped up a 2-1 win over Stoke to continue their winning run that has moved them five points clear of the likes of Tottenham and Arsenal having played a game more.
Muelenstten praised Manchester United for showing their spirit to hold off Stoke's late charge, and said it's not too late for them to mount a charge on top spot.
"That's what everyone has been waiting for, especially Louis van Gaal and his staff, for the players to string a few wins together and it's looking very good," the Dutch coach explained.

Lucas Silva agent confirms Premier League interest
Another highly rated youngster wanted by Premier League clubs is Lucas Silva - and the Brazilian’s agent has confirmed there is interest coming from England. Chelsea are said to be in the race for the youngster who has been billed as the ‘new Kaka’ along with Manchester United and Arsenal.
His team Cruzeiro are believed to be holding out for £15 million, but an offer of £12 million should do the trick, with Real Madrid also interested. "Representatives call and say they want to take him to Real Madrid or an English team," agent Luiz Rocha said.
"It's always interesting to see that the big clubs in Europe are interested in the player. This means that the job is well done.
"Lucas plays at the Brazilian champions and is one of the best players of Cruzeiro. We are pleased with the interest of big clubs."
