Tiger Woods made a disappointing return to action at the Hero World Challenge. He finished day one at five over par, four strokes adrift of the field. It was Tiger's short game that let him down as he uncharacteristically duffed four chip shots on his way to a 77. Jordan Spieth continued his fine run of form to lead the sixteen man field at six under par.

The second round of the European Tours Nedbank Challenge is underway in Sun City. Ross Fisher held the first round lead at six under par, two shots ahead of the chasing pack. Thomas Bjorn opened the defence of his title with an eight over par round that left him in last place.

And finally congratulations to Golfing World favourite John Daly who got engaged to long term girlfriend Anna Cladakis last night. The pair have been together for eight years and have recently teamed up on the course with the soon to be Mrs Daly caddying for him at last month’s Turkish Airlines Open.

That is all for today, we'll be back on Monday with action and reaction from around the world of golf, in the meantime check us out at or find us on Twitter, facebook and instagram. Bye for now.
