WWE: CM Punk offer can wait until he's ready, says TNA President

Published 4 Comments

CM Punk has made it pretty clear in the past few weeks that a return to the WWE is not in his immediate future - hitting out at the organization and its key figures for their treatment of him during his final months in the WWE.

With prospects of reconciliation with the WWE at an all time low there has been much speculation as to what the wrestler plans to do next. Everything from comic book writer and band member, to UFC fighter and full-time Blackhawks fan have been mentioned.

TNA return?

There has also been talk of a return for CM Punk to TNA Wrestling - WWE's main rivals and one of Punk's former employers. With that in mind TNA President Dixie Carter gave her thoughts on any potential deal for Punk today.

Carter, speaking to The Independent, did her best to dampen expectations of a shock move for Punk but also refused to rule out the possibility.

"CM Punk's in a place right now where he's happy and I wouldn't attempt to get him to come wrestle for us until he's in a place where he wants to wrestle," she explained.

"I respect what he's done so much, he was in my opinion at the top of his game, and it's hard walking away from a big paycheck, but he did it. You wouldn't want to ask him to walk to a new paycheck until his head is in the right place."

Distancing himself

There had been rumors in recent months that TNA had officially reached out to CM Punk over the summer in a bid to snag the popular wrestler, and get one over on the WWE.

But ,with Punk seemingly totally disinterested in the wrestling profession following the tumultuous end to his time in WWE, Carter is right to err on the side of caution in the current climate.

What's more, although CM Punk did spent a couple of years with TNA (2002-2004) he didn't exactly leave on good terms with the promotion. He quit due to a dispute regarding his ability to compete simultaneously in Ring of Honor.

What do you think? Should CM Punk step into the ring again, this time with TNA? Or is it time he left wrestling for good? Let us know in the comments section below...
