From December 1st until December 25th, one goal will be presented each day. The goals in the calendar have all been scored within the since January 1st this year.
The goals have been picked out by a jury of three people after a thorough review of the football year.
For December 7th, we have decided to take a look at a goal scored by Alexis Sanchez, then of Barcelona, against Atletico Madrid...
Most of the time, it is frustrating to see a player take a shot from an angle such as this. The reason behind it is that it often ends up hitting the outside of the net.
Not only is Alexis Sanchez's angle extraordinarily bad, the ball is also bouncing as he approaches it. In order to avoid firing the ball 10 feet over the crossbar, he needs to adjust his body in a very specific way. He executes it magnificently.
When this goal was scored, it could very well have saved Barcelona's entire season. Unfortunately for the Catalans, Diego Godin equalized and clinched the title for Atletico Madrid.
Even so, the fact that Sanchez scored such a great goal at such a crucial time, is truly impressive.
