CM Punk made the massive decision to join Ultimate Fighting Championship on Saturday, with UFC 181 receiving a huge publicity boost as a result.
Punk's decision gained so much publicity at the weekend that he became the sixth most searched term in the US, and it's safe to say that fans have had mixed views on his decision.
Some WWE fans have reacted angrily to Punk's decision, with most believing that Punk is yet again betraying WWE. But others can't wait to see Punk take to the Octagon next year for his UFC debut.
How long will Punk fight in UFC?
As it stands right now, CM Punk admits that he's a complete novice when it comes to UFC and he knows that it will take time. But Punk revealed in an interview with MMA Fighting that he has signed a multi-fight deal due to begin in 2015, while he also has ambitious plans for his UFC career.
"It is a multi-fight deal. I plan on fighting more than once yeah, unless something horrible happens. For the foreseeable future this is my home," Punk told MMA Fighting.

"I don't see anything stopping me from fighting well into my 40's. There are plenty of guys that fight into their 40's and I feel magnificent right now.
"I have a lot of work ahead of me that I'm going to put into this business. I would like to get back what I put in, and I never felt I got that in WWE. I will be in training for a long time first. I've got balls to even get in the Octagon, but I have the wherewithal to prepare first.
"This has given me new life. I have something to look forward to. There is now a reason why I will be busting my ass in the gym, it will be all working towards my debut, which will be some time next year."
Punk gets a warm welcome
Punk was present at the latest UFC pay-per-view on Saturday night and he says that he was impressed by the positive reaction amongst fighters to his UFC move.
In the interview following UFC 181, Punk said fighters such as Daniel Cormier had reached out to him to congratulate him.
"Everyone has been really nice, a lot of people have been saying welcome to the family and so on," Punk added.
"Cole Miller has been super nice, he's been sending me some texts. People have been taking the time out of celebrating wins to introduce themselves to me, which was a lot of fun. Daniel Cormier was also going crazy, I love it."
The hoopla surrounding Punk's decision to join UFC hides one big problem though that may trip him up, how good of a fighter is Punk?
Scripted wrestling is completely different. In UFC he will be tested like he has never been before and whether he will be able to stand up to that remains to be seen. WWE Champion and former UFC fighter Brock Lesnar proved his worth in UFC, but Lesnar is a different animal altogether and he was never tested too hard.
