AS Roma have reportedly offered striker Mattia Destro to Premier League giants Arsenal for just £15million, reports the Metro.
The Italian international has been strongly linked with a move away from Rome for the past few months now, and despite making 13 appearances already this term for Rudi Garcia's men, it's believed that they are ready to sell the 23-year-old.
Destro has netted four times during his 13 appearances this campaign, and was highly sought after over the summer, with Arsenal and Chelsea both keen, but despite their interest, no formal moves were made.
Deadline Day Trip
It was thought that Arsene Wenger was on his way to Italy on transfer deadline day to wrap up a deal with Roma officials for the striker, but it turned out that he was taking part in a charity event instead, leaving Arsenal fans annoyed and devastated.
However, the club did eventually sign a striker that day, as they agreed a £16m deal with Manchester United for Englishman Danny Welbeck.
Although they signed a new striker over the summer, according to reports, Arsenal have been offered the chance to sign Destro and Roma are willing to sell if a fee of £15m is met.
It's said that Roma have offered the Italian to 'several clubs around Europe', and the Gunners are reportedly one of them.
None of the other clubs are mentioned, and it's not clear whether Chelsea are considered one of the clubs in the race to land the 23-year-old, but interest was there in the summer, and with Didier Drogba expected to leave next year, a move could be back on.
Jose Mourinho signed Diego Costa, Drogba and Loic Remy over the summer in order to find goals which his attackers were not providing last season, and so far, they have provided for the Portuguese manager.
However, as mentioned, Drogba is expected to leave once his contract expires at the end of the season, and his spot could be taken by Destro if they are willing to meet the £15m price-tag.
Whether any deals take place in January is yet to be revealed, but it's likely that Destro will be moving on in the summer.
