WWE: AJ Lee set to leave wrestling after TLC?

Published 1 Comments

AJ Lee's future with WWE has been a hot topic for discussion for the past few months and especially after the comments her husband CM Punk made about the company last week.

The longest reigning divas champion of all time returned to WWE a few months ago after she took time off to get married to former superstar Punk and Paige dominated the divas division in her absence.

The fact that WWE then booked AJ to beat Paige the night she returned, for the title then made Paige look weak and AJ look like she owned the divas division, which she has done for the past two years.

That being said, AJ has now dropped her divas championship to Nikki Bella, a diva who is everything AJ resents and after her rematch clause is cashed in at TLC, the three time champion will have nothing left to accomplish in the company.

AJ was named the 2014 Diva of the year after she missed out last year when The Bella Twins were joint winners. She then delivered a speech where she talked about the up and coming divas and who she would love to see win the award next year.

She said: "Three years ago I promised all of you that I would redefine the term 'Diva' and I am very proud to say that I sure have done that, according to NODQ.com

"You can be a nerd, you can be a tomboy and you can still be the longest reigning Divas Champion of all time. So I hope that means that next year this award is won by Bailey or Sasha or Charlotte or Emma or Paige, any of those girls can be next in line for the throne, but I am not done being queen."

Was it a goodbye speech?

It is thought by many within WWE that this was AJ's goodbye speech and if she does leave the company on Sunday then it will be one that is looked at as AJ giving her thoughts on the Divas coming through the ranks at WWE and her being happy for the torch to be passed on.

She battles Nikki Bella for the Championship she has held so dear in her WWE career on Sunday in what is sure to be an epic encounter from the current top two divas in the division at present.
