The New York Jets are absolutely awful right now. They're so terrible that fans voices are probably sore from all the booing.
The Jets have won just two games all season and it looks like there will be a whole host of changes made in the off-season with head coach Rex Ryan on his way out and the future of GM John Idzik up in the air after some awful recruiting.
But another one of the major problems for the Jets in 2014 has been quarterback Geno Smith, who i would compare to a dumpster fire but, honestly, that's offensive to dumpster fires.
But it seems like in the confusion of being benched multiple times, Geno has become disconnected from reality. Well that's the only explanation one can offer for his frankly delusional comments that he made yesterday.
"I've shown flashes of being a Pro Bowl-caliber quarterback," - Geno Smith
"But what we're looking for here is consistency. The best teams have consistent quarterback play and I realize that and that's truly what I want to show to the fans and everyone outside the building," the Jets QB added.
- Rex Ryan admits he's an embarrassment
- Texans star set to miss 9 months
- Cam Newton rushed to hospital
A quarterback with 12 interceptions already in the season should not be allowed to even utter the word Pro Bowl without it being about another QB. When you combine it with his two forced fumbles, multiple sacks and dismal quarterback rating then it becomes laughable.
It's genuinely almost a unbelievable as Smith saying he was excited at how much room for improvement the Jets have to make. Like seriously, he actually said that out of his mouth!
The writing is on the wall for Smith who almost certainly shouldn't be the Jets quarterback next year and will instead be riding the pine while either Marcus Mariota or Jameis Winston lead the New York Jets offense like the capable quarterbacks they are.
Then maybe Smith will have more time for the daydreaming that he is currently doing, imagining himself as a Pro Bowl player.
