Arsenal are prepared to battle a number of their Premier League rivals in the race to bring Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba back to England, according to the Express.
It has been reported that the Gunners, who are in desperate need of improvement in the middle of the park, could soon swoop for the player who has been rated at £40 million.
A huge race
It certainly won't be easy for the north London club to land the talented midfielder, however, with a number of Premier League clubs interested in the player's signature. In fact, as well as the Gunners, the likes of Chelsea and Manchester City have been credited with interest in the midfielder.
It has even been suggested that Citizens boss Manuel Pellegrini wants to bring Pogba to the Etihad as a replacement for Ivorian star Yaya Toure. With Pogba still only 21-years-old, he would prove quite the coup for the Sky Blues, but it remains to be seen as to whether he would be willing to return to Manchester.
And City aren't the only Manchester side interested in his signature, with the player's former club Manchester United seemingly ready to bring him back to the club under the Louis van Gaal regime.
Manchester United, who have been improving under Van Gaal of late, look set to splash the cash once again in 2015, with Pogba appearing to be high up on their list.
Arsenal in need
Arsenal, then, have it all to do in order to bring the player to the Premier League, but he'd no doubt prove quite the investment for the club as they go in search of long term glory.
There's no doubt about, Arsenal could do with adding to their options in the midfield department, with the likes of Mathieu Flamini and Mikel Arteta failing to protect the side's back-line.
Pogba would be a step up in quality for the Gunners, and may well be worth his extremely high asking price.
