So maybe the title race isn't over after all.

Last weekend's results have brought Manchester City back to within three points of table toppers Chelsea, and a morale boosting win over Roma in the Champions League in midweek will only serve to stiffen City's resolve over a busy Christmas fixture list.

As for the title favourites, Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho confirmed yesterday he does not think he'll be very active in the January transfer window - his squad does look the most complete.

For the visit of Hull City today though, they'll be without Cesc Fabregas (suspension) and Thibaut Courtois (injury).

City's cross town rivals Manchester United welcome Liverpool to Old Trafford tomorrow, but we've also got an update on one failed Manchester United transfer - sorry United fans!

With Chris Smalling set for another spell on the sidelines after limping off against Southampton, it's a good bet that Van Gaal will be strengthening on the defensive side next month.
