Inter Milan defender Nemanja Vidic won't be making a shock January return to former-club Manchester United, despite reports suggesting otherwise.
Reports broke this earlier this week claiming that the Serbian was to leave Italy after just months there and return to England, with his former-employers interested in re-signing him until the end of the season.
However, Vidic's agent has rubbished the claims and has insisted that his client is going nowhere in the New Year and will remain at the San Siro. The Serbian has struggled for form in Italy and has put in several below-par performances since joining the Serie A side, and due to that, he was linked with a quick move back to England and back to Old Trafford.
United are in dire need of defensive reinforcements, with injuries causing havoc among the back line, and Louis van Gaal was thought to be keen on bringing back Vidic as a cheap, but experienced option.
Van Gaal is also monitoring Mats Hummels from Borussia Dortmund, and Winston Reid from West Ham United, as he seeks additions to help conquer the injury woes. Despite the interest being there, Vidic will not be making a quick move back to Old Trafford and he will be seeing out his three-year deal in Italy.

The 33-year-old's agent, Silvano Martina, confirmed in an interview that the speculation of a United reunion is rubbish and just paper talk.
He sarcastically told Calcio Mercato: "Yes, he's already training with the Red Devils.
"It's all just stories. Vidic has a three-year deal with Inter and he's not moving from Milan.

"There's almost no point in commenting the nonsense being spread and I don't even see for what reason the lad would be accosted to other teams.
"There's been little respect for the player I represent, not by Inter, but by the Press.
"As soon as the Nerazzurri got a couple of games wrong, the Press didn't think twice before attacking Vidic, pointing fingers at him as the only one worthy of blame.
"I'll say this again - he's not moving from Inter."
Vidic left United over the summer on a free transfer as his contract expired with the Premier League giants.
