Arsenal bounced back from their defeat to Stoke City last weekend with a 4-1 Premier League victory over Newcastle United.

The Gunners showed signs of life in the Champions League with a win over Galatasaray in midweek, and they repeated the trick against the Magpies today (Saturday) with an emphatic victory.

Giroud on form

Olivier Giroud opened the scoring for the Gunners with just minutes on the clock, and he got his second after the break to make the score 3-0.

Santi Cazorla had already doubled his side's advantage on 54 minutes with a wonderful finish, picking up the ball from Alexis Sanchez and cutting inside before curling home a fine finish.

Danny Welbeck also had a goal controversially disallowed, but it didn't matter despite Ayoze Perez giving the Toon life with a header. Cazorla wrapped it up with a penalty after Welbeck had been brought down in the box.
