Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal has insisted that contract negotiations with David de Gea are between the player and the club, reports the Daily Star.
United's Spanish shot-stopper has been in inspired form for the Red Devils throughout the course of the campaign so far, but links with European giants Real Madrid have been growing of late.
The same report has revealed that Manchester United have huge plans for the player as they are ready to double his current £70,000-a-week contract with the club and offer him a new five-year deal.
As United look to negotiate a deal with the player, it appears that Van Gaal may play no part in proceedings, as he told reporters:
"That is between the club and the player and it is not open for discussion for the media."

There's no doubt about it, Manchester United fans will be desperate for the club to complete a deal with their 'keeper in the near future as uncertainty continues to surround him at Old Trafford.
De Gea has been without question United's most consistent player for some time now after securing the club's Player of the Year award for last season. This season, meanwhile, he has been just as good as he's picked up the last two Player of the Month awards at the club.
And, yesterday - against Premier League rivals Liverpool - De Gea was once again unbeatable as he made numerous saves from the likes of Raheem Sterling, Mario Balotelli and Co., as Van Gaal's side picked up all three points on home soil.
It was another huge win for United as they secured their sixth straight Premier League victory in a row, to cement their place in third place in the division. Next up for De Gea and Co. will be a trip to Villa Park on Saturday as the club look to continue their winning streak against Paul Lambert's side.
