Chris Jericho speaks out over Goldberg fight

WWE hero Chris Jericho has revealed the details of his real life fight with Goldberg back in 2003, reports inquisitr.com.

It has been long reported that the pair endured a tussle in the locker room, and Jericho has decided to speak out over the incident.

Rumour has it that Jericho and Goldberg collided in the late 90s during their WCW days as the legendary superstar believed that Jericho was too small and had very little interest in working with him.

Long term feud

Jericho, then, has admitted that animosity between the pair transferred over to WWE as they went head-to-head in the locker room. He's admitted that it was unfortunate for Goldberg as he held his ground in the rivalry.

Y2J told reporters: “It was a different world then. Things happen all the time. When everybody is holding on to their position like I got to do this, I got to do that, Goldberg and I saw wrestling from both sides of a different coin. But both of us were very successful. There wasn’t a lot of interest on his end to work with me in WCW.

There was a little animosity between us that transferred to the WWE. We had a scuffle — it wasn’t what everyone says — where Jericho took him down and tied him in a knot.

"I stood up for myself and held my ground. It was what it was. It was unfortunate for Bill, it was on his first day, so he kind of got labeled right off the bat.”

Despite admitting that there will never be a re-match between the pair, Y2J has insisted that he won the battle, but now has nothing but respect for his then rival.

He continued by saying: “If you want to score it, Jericho – 1, Goldberg – 0. There will never be a rematch, ever. If it ever happens, I’ll run away screaming because I’m not going to say I got lucky, but I’m glad the outcome was the way it was because I thought he was going to tear my head off.

"Bill [Goldberg] is a good guy, man, I have nothing but love for him, nothing but respect.”

Jericho and Goldberg, then, have clearly put their differences behind them, but it remains to be seen as to whether they will ever be involved in the wrestling industry with each other once again in the future.

WWE Universe will, however, get the opportunity to witness Y2J in tonight's showing of Raw as the superstar is set to serve as a guest General Manager. It's also extremely likely that he will return to in-ring action in 2015 as WWE looks ahead to another year.
