Lewis Hamilton wins Best Personality Award

Published 1 Comments

Lewis Hamilton has been crowned the BBC Sports Personality of the Year after a glittering night in Glasgow. The Formula 1 world champion beat golfer Rory McIlroy and long-distance runner Jo Pavey to the award, whilst Portuguese footballer Cristiano Ronaldo won the Overseas Sportsperson of the year. In boxing, Amir Kahn has thrown down the challenge to Floyd Mayweather or Manny Pacquiao after his win over Devon Alexander. The Bolton speedster was a class above his rival in Las Vegas, and wants a shot against one of the big boys ahead of a domestic dust-up with Kell Brook. And finally, in cricket, Australia captain Michael Clarke is to have surgery on his hamstring after another injurt setback against India. The 33-year-old had hinted that his career might be over in the aftermath of the first test victory, but there is still hope that he could one day lead his nation again.
