The true cost of 2014's biggest transfers have been revealed after a detailed study by Goal looked beyond just transfer fees.

Luis Suarez's move from Liverpool to Barcelona was named the year's most expensive transaction with the deal likely to cost the Nou Camp club around £200 million once his contract has been paid out.

Goal's study combined the transfer fees along with signing-on fees, agent fees and the costs of the player's contract. When all these factors are put together, the true cost of some of the biggest transfers reach astronomical figures.

The comprehensive study named the ten biggest transfers of the year including deals involving Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester United, Manchester City, Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain and Barcelona.
