There's no doubt about it, the year of 2014 has been a roller-coaster one for fans of Manchester United. 

After years and years of the legendary Sir Alex Ferguson in charge, David Moyes' tenure at Old Trafford ended extremely early, with Dutchman Louis van Gaal ultimately replacing him as the club's new chief. 

2014, without a doubt, changed everything at the Theatre of Dreams: the Red Devils were dumped out of Europe, whilst legends departed and new stars arrived as the club headed into a new direction.

It most certainly hasn't been a quiet year for Manchester United, and there have been many ups and downs along the way. 

Now, though, there appears to be light at the end of the tunnel, but with the year drawing to a close, it appears to be the right time to take a look at United's moments to forget and to remember in 2014.
