Martin Odegaard visits Arsenal despite reports of Bayern Munich 'deal'

Norwegian teenage sensation Martin Odegaard had reportedly agreed to join Bayern Munich after training with the club - but that's all changed this afternoon as reports in Norway now claim he's at Arsenal.

Norwegian media outlet VG Sporten report that Odegaard travelled with his father last night to England, and has spent today training at the London Colney training base of the Gunners in north London.

Bayern Munich were thought to have won the race to sign the 15-year-old midfielder, who turns 16 tomorrow. Over the last few months he's been on something of a European tour as each of Europe's big clubs pitch to him as to why he should join them over their rivals.

Chelsea, Bayern, Real Madrid, Manchester City and Barcelona have all been linked with the wonder-kid, whose YouTube videos are the stuff of legend (you can see one below).

Reports in England last week claimed Odegaard was set for trials with Arsenal before Bayern Munich reportedly swooped in first.

That now looks premature though, as the teenager is not finished weighing up his options yet. He spent time with Arsenal, Liverpool and Bayern this month, having spoken to Real Madrid in November.

The plan is to visit Barcelona in the near future too. Odegaard, who broke into the first-team at Strømsgodset in April and was fast-tracked into the Norway international set-up, has one year left on his contract.

He turns 16 tomorrow, and will therefore be old enough to be transferred from Strømsgodset to a foreign professional club.

The YouTube videos are practically legendary, and his performances in the Norwegian top flight - although not up against the toughest opposition - have earned him favourable comparisons with Lionel Messi.
