Randy Orton was taken out of action a few months ago by Seth Rollins, as cover for the former WWE World Heavyweight Champion to go and film his scenes for WWE's The Condemned 2.
Filming for the latest WWE Studios production was wrapped before Survivor Series, but Orton is still yet to return to WWE TV.
Many thought he was set to return and cost Rollins the win over John Cena at TLC on Sunday night, but instead it was his former Shield stable-mate Roman Reigns that did the honors and allowed to get the victory.
Not friends anymore
It does seem that there may be something in the pipeline for Rollins and Orton further down the line after Seth's recent interview with The Sun, where he said the following.
"Randy and I are colleagues for sure, but we were never friends as far as hanging out. Randy’s got his life, I’ve got my life – we were business partners when it made sense. But now it doesn’t make sense any more so we’re at odds again."

"And if you look at the way things were when we first came in as The Shield, he didn’t like us very much then so it is one of those things where I think he has always harbored a little professional jealousy when it comes to myself."
Rollins continued, "Maybe he’s a little afraid that some of the young guys are going to come in and steal some of his thunder."
Rollins says Orton is paranoid
Rollins also suggested that Orton is looking over his shoulder at some of the younger talents who are coming through, especially with NXT becoming the juggernaut it is.
There is still no official date for Orton's WWE return and with The Royal Rumble looming, it seems the former Authority member's best option could be to go into the Rumble match and pick up a feud inside.
Seth Rollins looks like he is set to do anything he can to cost Cena his match with Lesnar, and there is no need for Seth to be in the Rumble match because he already has a briefcase that guarantees him a title match whenever he wants one.
This could entice Orton to react when he tries to cost Cena his title match, and therefore open up a rivalry between the two former partners heading down the Road to WrestleMania. But for now, no one knows where The Viper is set to strike next.
