Manchester United midfielder Marouane Fellaini has confirmed that he will miss the club's fixture with Aston Villa this afternoon.

The Belgian international, who has been a key member of the side under Louis van Gaal this season, has been in fine form for the Red Devils of late, but won't be taking to the pitch at Villa Park to take on Paul Lambert's side.

Red Devils boss Louis van Gaal revealed yesterday that the midfielder was ill, which has ultimately now kept him out of the showdown.

Ahead of the game, though, Fellaini took to Twitter to wish his team well as they go in search of securing their seventh straight league victory.

Fellaini also sent a message to his international teammate, Christian Benteke, who looks set to star in attack for Villa today. There's no doubt about it, Benteke will have to be at his best if Villa are going to secure a positive result against the Old Trafford outfit.

Manchester United, though, will be in confident mood ahead of the showdown, with the likes of Wayne Rooney, Robin van Persie, Radamel Falcao and Co. all in contention for a starting role.

Spanish ace Ander Herrera, meanwhile, may well be the man to replace Fellaini in midfield as he looks to prove his credentials after a tricky opening to his career with the club.
