We've seen some pretty special penalties over the years. The likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi and Co. have all held their nerve and fired from the spot on the biggest of stages.

Sometimes, though, we see a player attempt something slightly different from 12-yards. From the spectacular to the unspectacular, there have been some quite ridiculous dead-ball strikes over the years.

Let's just say the player didn't quite get the connection that he was hoping for. As well as the ball travelling at a snail's pace, it was also going wide of the goal.

Unsurprisingly, his teammates were left stunned - and very angry - with the player's antics. He won't be trying that again anytime soon.
