Cristiano Ronaldo statue creates stir with well-placed bulge

Cristiano Ronaldo was honoured by his hometown this weekend with a statue outside his museum in Funchal, Madeira.

That's all well and good, the Portugal captain is a hero in the small island in the north Atlantic but possibly the person in charge of designing the statue is too big a fan of Ronaldo.

Because you don't have to look too closely before something slightly odd quite literally forces itself into your eyeline. One quite noticeable part of the feature, his crotch, comes bulging out. It's a little in-your-face for our taste but fair play, it's a bold design.

Not sure how tight the shorts were that Ronaldo was wearing when this statue was commissioned, either that or the Portugal star was a little stimulated on the field of play.

Obviously, it's natural that Ronaldo wants to accentuate his assets, after all it's a statue in his honour. But this is just ludicrous - you can see the statue in the image above.

Club World Cup victory

The unveiling came a day after Ronaldo helped Real Madrid win the Club World Cup in Morocco. The number seven didn't find the scoresheet against the Argentinian opponents, as Gareth Bale and Sergio Ramos were the goalscorers.

The trophy is Real Madrid's fourth of the calendar year, after they scooped the Champions League, Copa del Rey and European Super Cup earlier in the year.
