Juventus eye swoop for Chelsea ace Ramires

Serie A champions Juventus are set to launch a bid for Chelsea midfielder Ramires after the Brazilian fell down the pecking order this season at Stamford Bridge according to reports.

The 27-year-old has been pivotal for The Blues' first-team since his arrival from Portuguese side Benfica back in 2010, but this season due to summer signings he has struggled for regular first-team football.

Ramires, who's natural position is in the holding-midfield role, has had his first-team spot taking by new-signing, Cesc Fabregas, who arrived in the Summer after completing a move from FC Barcelona.

Fabregas has slotted in nicely at The Bridge, setting up a formidable partnership alongside Nemanja Matic at the heart of Jose Mourinho's midfield.

Due to Fabregas' arrival and Matic's presence in the midfield, Ramires has struggled for first-team football this season and has gained most of his appearances from the subs bench.

Pecking order

After falling down the pecking order, Ramires has been strongly linked with a move away, with Real Madrid and now Juve both keen on the powerhouse. According to reports, Juve will launch a £12million bid for the Brazilian in the New Year, but will probably wait until the Summer before they make the move.

It's thought around Italy that they won't be able to persuade Chelsea to sell halfway through the season, but they may be able to secure the deal in the Summer, with a £12m bid in mind.

Officials at Juve feel the £12m offered would be acceptable from Chelsea's point of view, and they are desperate to find a new midfielder with fears over the futures of Paul Pogba and Arturo Vidal.

Last month, Juve's president admitted that the club will struggle to keep hold of their stars, including Pogba and Vidal, and they are already in the market searching for a potential replacement.

Pogba has been strongly linked with a move to one of European's elites, whilst Vidal has been continuously linked with Manchester United.

Chelsea are one club linked with Pogba, and it was suggested that a potential cash plus player deal could take place including the Frenchman and Ramires.
