Chelsea midfielder Ramires could be the perfect replacement for Paul Pogba at Serie A giants Juventus.
The Brazilian is reportedly being eyed by the Italian giants as a potential replacement for the 19-year-old, who may leave the club with Louis Van Gaal’s Manchester United keen.
And with his options at Stamford Bridge limited after an influx of new players in the summer, Ramires could be tempted by a switch to the current Scudetto holders in order to secure first-team football once again.
Having failed to win the Premier League title in his first season, Jose Mourinho was heavily active if the transfer market as he set about plotting a successful surge to the summit this time around.
With Nemanja Matic already having touched down in the capital back in January following three years away at Portuguese side Benfica, Cesc Fabregas was brought in to join him after falling down the pecking order at Barcelona.
The pair’s consistent form has helped the Blues dominate the early embers of this season, and also ensured that Frank Lampard has not been missed after his shock exit back in the summer.
Lampard’s exit was widely unexpected, but Ramires could join him in leaving Stamford Bridge if he fails to force his way into the side any time soon.
Despite losing manager Antonio Conte in the summer, Juventus have continued to dominate Serie A and look on course to win a fourth league title in succession under the stewardship of Massimiliano Allegri.
However, despite their success the rumours over the future of Pogba and teammate Arturo Vidal continue to persist, with both tickling the fancy of some of the biggest and best clubs on the planet.
Pogba was voted as the Young Player of the Tournament at the World Cup in Brazil back in the summer, and despite signing a new contract earlier this season could be tempted by a return to the Premier League or transfer to Spanish giants Real Madrid.
Vidal was continually linked with a move to Old Trafford but is the more likely of the two to remain in Turin, especially if Van Gaal ends his interest and instead focuses on sealing a deal for Roma’s Kevin Strootman.
Much may hinge on how the club fare in the Champions League, with Allegri’s men due to lock horns with Jurgen Klopp’s Borussia Dortmund when the transfer window reopens in January.
Ramires could be available for around £12million, but the final decision may lie with Mourinho who would be unlikely to sanction a sale before the end of the season.
His pacey, direct style would give them another dimension in attack, and could be the man they need to help ensure their domestic domination continues.
