Wrestling legends making big time appearances in the WWE have been all of the rage quite recently.
Long time WCW and TNA star Sting made his first appearance in Vince McMahon's company last month at the Survivor Series pay-per-view where he interrupted the main event to kick Triple H and The Authority out of power.
But another former TNA superstar won't be joining the WWE however. That man is former TNA Champion AJ Styles, who has been linked to making a move to the WWE for years now.
Speaking in an interview with Rocky Romero along with AJ's fellow Bullet Club members Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson on the latest instalment of MLW Radio's 'Talk'n Shop Podcast', Styles slammed the WWE and any chance of joining the biggest company in wrestling.
"Why would I want to go to WWE!?" Styles said. "I mean honestly… They're struggling right now with the Network… I'm in the hottest wrestling company in the world—New Japan—and I'm with the hottest wrestling group. We can say it over and over again. It's absolutely true."
It's a shame that we will never see 'The Phenomenal' Styles in a WWE ring. The 37-year old clearly has immense talent and ability like Sting - albeit to a lesser extent.
Former WWE commentator Jim Ross said recently that Styles was as good as anyone in the WWE and would be a huge success in the company.
“AJ Styles would fit into any structure, it’s just a matter of decision makers having an open mind and be willing to utilize him to his skills, and not stereotype him because he isn’t the biggest guy in the locker room. He’s as good a performer as anybody WWE has right now from bell to bell,' Ross said on his blog.
