Seth Rollins could cash in at the Royal Rumble

The rumours surrounding Roman Reigns not reigning supreme at the Royal Rumble aren’t the only big changes set to hit the WWE; there are also big plans to see the Royal Rumble event crown a new WWE World Heavyweight Champion.

Brock Lesnar and John Cena are set to clash once more next month with Lesnar’s WWE World Heavyweight Championship on the line, and the match billed as ‘The Final Chapter’ might see a huge swerve at the conclusion.

Fans have assumed for a long time now that Brock Lesnar would carry the WWE World Heavyweight Championship to WrestleMania 31 before he eventually drops the title to Roman Reigns. But with Reigns’ main event position now in doubt, another former member of The Shield could steal the show in Philadelphia.

Dave Meltzer of The Wrestling Observer has reported that the WWE are planning on having Mr. Money in the Bank cash in at the conclusion and leave the Rumble as the new WWE World Heavyweight Champion.

If the reports are true then the way the WWE will play the match out is that John Cena will finally dethrone Brock Lesnar to conclude their feud once and for all, and to allow the John Cena and Seth Rollins feud to move forward, they will have Seth Rollins cash in on John Cena and this would add something extra to the feud.

We are already aware that John Cena is the only man who can reinstate The Authority after Dolph Ziggler helped Team Cena to victory over Team Authority at the Survivor Series pay-per-view. It is expected that Seth Rollins will tempt John Cena to put that on the line whilst Rollins will defend his gold, Rollins will end up as the winner and that would bring both Triple H and Stephanie McMahon back on television.

Seth Rollins cashing in at the Royal Rumble would change everything, certainly everything that fans expected to happen. Brock Lesnar isn’t expected to re-sign with the WWE after WrestleMania so he would need an opponent, as would John Cena especially if Triple H and Sting go one on one whilst The Undertaker and Bray Wyatt would also clash.

It’s unclear whether The Rock will be at the event, Roman Reigns could still compete in the title match and this would see the implosion of The Shield being brought up again and back into relevance, especially since Reigns and Rollins haven’t really managed to get their opportunity and taking each other down.

If Dean Ambrose doesn’t replace Roman Reigns as the winner of the Royal Rumble match then he will be a huge name in need of a big opponent, as would the likes of Dolph Ziggler, The Big Show, the returning Sheamus and Rusev amongst many other big names which include Randy Orton and Luke Harper.

The second annual Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal is also scheduled to take place, it remains doubtful that Cesaro will retain that crown but picking out a winner isn’t as easy especially if the big names are occupied elsewhere.

It would be fantastic to see Seth Rollins cash in at the Royal Rumble, it would change things completely and would mean the fans won’t expect it as much as they would have with the previous plans which have been known for almost a year.
