Chelsea youngster Nathan Ake could leave the club on a temporary basis in the upcoming January transfer window, according to the Express.

The teenage defender, who looks set for a bright future despite having only featured for the club on a couple of occasions this season, is wanted by Turkish outfit Besiktas.

Besiktas to swoop

In fact, it has been suggested that Beskitas will make a move for the 19-year-old as they look to bring him to the club for the remainder of the season.

It remains to be seen, however, as to whether the Chelsea hierarchy will allow the ace to leave the club in order to gain first-team experience.

It's been suggested that, despite the player having failed to secure a first-team place, Blues boss Jose Mourinho does see Ake as a valuable member of his squad.

Versatility

It appears, then, that Mourinho recognises the player's versatility as a key trait as his side go in search of success this season.

A defender by trade, Ake can also play in midfield, so it's not surprising that the Portuguese tactician sees the youngster as an important member.

With Chelsea still involved in four major competitions, the youngster may well have a key role to play in the second half of the season.
